North Westward Ho!, Manchester

UNA were approached by Pomona Brew Co to design North Westward Ho! – a classic boozer set within the Grade 2 listed 30 Pall Mall (formerly Princes Chambers) in the centre of Manchester.

The brief was to create a traditional pub whilst avoiding pastiche. We sought inspiration from the iconic pubs of Liverpool and London, and created a space with high light ceilings, dark timbered bar counters and panelling, bespoke lights, hand silvered mirrors and flourishes in brass and ceramic tiling.

The pub opened in October 2023 and was immediately busy showing the demand for pubs as a venue for gathering, relaxing and as vital and vibrant social spaces.
